5 year Anniversary

Camron and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on an "official" getaway, complete with no kids! (Not even the nursing baby) It was incredible! Camron's parents came down for Christmas and agreed to watch the kids for us, so Camron picked a surprise location (Cambria, California, it's a small little town on the coast of central CA) and whisked me away for a 4 day vacation.

The beach was right across the street from our hotel, so after breakfast each morning we got to go on a walk with this as our view. It was awesome! We had a wonderful time shopping, site seeing, and of course watching the BYU bowl game since we had "real" t.v. at our hotel! I can't believe it's already been 5 years, but I guess with 3 kids it couldn't have been much less....LOL. I'm so grateful to have such a wonderful husband who is truely my best friend. These past 5 years have been wonderful and I can't wait for MANY more to come!

Hearst Castle

One of the places we saw while "site seeing" in Cambria. It's called the "Hearst Castle" and was built by George Hearst in the 1920's. It is ENORMOUS (the main house is something like 60,000 sq ft, not to mention all the other buildings, servants quarters, pools, etc.) and full of exquisite art. It's seriously the closest thing to a Europe you'll get in California (and perhaps the closest I'll get to my European vacation). Take a look at the view up there, it is incredible!

Take a look at the pool below. It has Roman pillars and a pediment on the other side, shipped in from the real Roman ruins....WOW is all I can say.

The indoor pool is shown below. The picture does no justice. The tiles have actual gold in them and just sparkle in the sun. And the zebras pictured below are some of the last animals left from the personal zoo the guy had. He had polar bears, lions, tigers, you name it. Oh, and did I mention this was only one of seven houses that he owned...he was gracious enough to gift this to the state parks of California, who now make a killing off of it....$20/head for a tour, and they CRAM the people onto the tour bus....trust me, I should know :)

Ward Christmas Party

We had our ward Christmas party on Saturday, complete with a Christmas program put on by the youth about the life of the Savior. They even had a life nativity scene, and as Jaycie is the only baby in the ward, she was chosen to be baby Jesus (but of course I didn't get a picture...grrr).
And of course we had a visit from Santa Claus. Aubrielle was thrilled and excited to tell him she wanted a Barbie for Christmas (which was news to mom.....). She also posed nicely for a picture (her beautiful Christmas dress is accented with a white and blue cloth, she wanted to dress like she was from Bethlehem like the Young Women....she thinks so is one of them...it's quite cute).
Anyway, Benson was less than excited to see the jolly old man....in fact, when he saw the guy who dressed up like Santa at church the next day he started crying again...lol, I have no idea how he recognized him....and when he saw me posting this picture he said, "Benben....cying....'Mama, Mama!!'" So funny. Although he did manage to yell from about 10 feet away, "Ball, ball!" So hopefully Santa got that on his list. And he was more than thrilled to get a candy cane from Santa's helper (although they were popcorn, cherry and pear flavored...yuck!).

Share the camera time Jaycie!

Well, I wanted to take a picture of Jaycie last night because she was looking so cute and clean (thanks to a wonderful husband who had to change the blow-out diaper of the year, and give her a bath, and keep an eye on the other two while I was at a YW presidency meeting...I'll have to continue to "coach" Jaycie on the timing....it was perfect....LOL. I had been waiting for it (she hadn't pooped in over a day) and of course as soon as I left, and dad was in charge, she let loose....)). Anyway, I was trying to take a picture of Jaycie, but had a very hard time getting a picture of her alone, as you can see. Everyone wants their fair share of camera time!!
And my cute little Jaycie turned 2 months old yesterday! Time is just going by way too fast for me! I want her to stay little forever, but I just don't think that'll happen. Oh, well, I guess I better go enjoy her while I still can!

Our parking lot pet....

Camron spotted this furry friend about a week ago, he claimed it was a possum, but I didn't believe him. However we spotted him again this weekend and got a great view, and I must admit, he's right. The kids loved it, they were so disappointed when he wasn't there the next day. Aubrielle was so cute though, she said, "Oh Mom, thank you so much for letting us see that possum last night!!"

Long time....

So since it's been over a year since my last "blog update", I thought I'd update those long lost friends who found me through the blogging world and update on what we've been up to the past year! (Along with links to pictures I posted on picasa web albums cause I was too lazy to blog)
Well we went to Spokane for Christmas last year, got back in January, and then my parents came to visit for my birthday and Aubrielle's birthday and took us to Disneyland!! Right after they left we found out that we were pregnant with baby #3, and I then spent the next few months enjoying early pregnancy on the couch wondering how I was ever going to have enough energy to get off of it!
Over the summer we went to my sister Emily's wedding and to Camron's family reunion at Lake Powell (lots of fun, except for the Carbon Monoxide poisoning incident....).
Then on October 16th we welcomed Jaycie Grace to our family! She was 8 lbs 7 oz and 20 inches long and is still just an angel! Grandma also came to visit just after she was born and spoiled the kids (and me) rotten....hooray for Grandmas!!
And that about takes us up to date. We are loving California and still can't believe the weather....it was 84 degrees today...December 4th!! Crazy! Hope all is going well for all of you!
